Dave's "Family" car

Car : 1989 Ford SHO
Desc : 5 passenger, 4-door sedan. SHO model has motor unique to SHO models only, in addition to suspension calibration different than standard Tauri. (Think of it like a Mustang GT compared to a standard Mustang - really no comparison!!)

Engine : 3.0L EFI DOHC V-6

Mods : Cold air induction horn, cold air induction filter can,80mm MAF w/ cone air filter, HiFlow Y-pipe, HiFlow Cat back, underdrive pulleys.

Trans : 5-speed manual

Suspension : 4 wheel independent suspension, 4 wheel disc brakes.

Mods : Upgraded F & R brakes - Carbon Metallic pads, front & rear strut braces, Koni 5-way adjustable shocks, Eibach springs F/R, poly anti-sway bar bushings, police front grille, TSW Evolution 17x7.5" wheels, 225/45ZR-17 Toyo Proxes T-1.

 

The mods to the car make the athletic SHO even more so, at the expense of more noise (mostly exhaust) and more ride harshness (most noticeable at 5MPH). The BEST thing is running this car to 7500 rpm, and have it PULL all the way!!! The car isn't extremely fast, but has a nice powerband from 3500-7000+, and I'm sure will surprise a lot of "wannabees". To date, my best 1/4 mi is 14.9 @ 96MPH - not bad for a 5 seater that gets about 28-30mpg highway.
