A new shell has been purchased!! This shell will be getting an integrated cage to stiffen the structure while allowing use of the rear seats without the possibility of the roll bar knocking out anyone sitting in the back.

Notables include holes in the engine bay welded up, battery tray removed and fender reshaped, door locks shaved, unmolested automatic transmission tunnel, and license place recess filled in and lic. plate lights removed.

Other plans for this shell include the custom suspension that was discussed in page 1 of project FV-S. With the power goal off 300+ wheel HP met, it is time for the ultimate stage in this project.

This is a LONG TERM (approx. 2-3+ years) stage, in the meantime I plan on driving the existing TT car around. Any and all suspension ideas are being considered at this time, although I already have a general idea of what I want to do, so the other options will be compared against the "general idea baseline".

The primary goal is to fit 245/45-16 tires (on 300ZX TT wheels) under stock fenders. Note this goal is for FRONT and REAR, not just the rear. Why that size? ZXTT wheels are 8.5in wide and accommodate the common 245/45-16 tire size, so this size allows me to keep Nissan OEM wheels under the car. Since it's not uncommon to see that 300ZX style of wheel under a 510 I feel it adds a touch more sleeper look vs any aftermarket 16 or 17in wheel. That and they're cheaper!

ZXTT wheels have been sourced and are currently on their way! They have a unique paint job and I will have pictures up soon...

Wheels are here. Check out the difference in dish - same design, but the ZXTT wheel has a dish where the 300ZX NA wheel does not. (16x8.5 vs 16x7.5). The ZXTT wheels are painted dark grey (antracite?) except for the lip. Next up is to find some 245/45-16's to mount so I can check clearances on various configurations.

Picked up a pair of 245/45-16's, they need to be mounted then I can start mocking stuff up with suspension ideas.

I finally got the 245's mounted on the ZXTT 8.5in wheels. They fit....almost
